EMMA MARTIN

I believe life is about enjoying every step of your journey, always being able to laugh, and enjoying the beauty of life around you. Curiosity about what you are able to do propels continual expanse in your abilities and keeps you growing at any stage of life. I try to take this approach in everything I do, from physical training, learning new things, and creating.

MY FOCUS IS TO HELP DEVELOP FOUNDATIONAL STRENGTH AND FUNCTIONAL MOBILITY THAT ANYONE AT ANY AGE CAN USE EVERY DAY TO IMPROVE ALL ASPECTS OF THEIR LIFE.

My “WHY”

We all tend to have preconceived ideas of what we are and are not able to do.  Luckily, we are often wrong. Our ability to improve, become stronger and more capable is astounding. My passion is helping individuals see what they are truly capable of and getting them to the point where their physical abilities do not hinder them from living the life they want to live.

things i like to do

Being a life long Asheville resident, I have developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty that the area provides. I love being outdoors and in the middle of the breathtaking mountains. Coffee is always on my list of things I enjoy and I keep an unofficial list of the best coffee shops in the area. I enjoy self expression through art. I do this by dabbling in a variety of mediums including: watercolors, photography, and ceramics. I combine my passion for art and physical training by practicing Aerial Arts.

EXPERIENCE

I have had a life long passion for exercise which led to my pursuit of an A.A.S in Health and Fitness Science. I am a certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Specialist through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and I have been instructing group fitness classes since 2017.

“I have really enjoyed working with Emma. She always starts the session with the question “How are you and how is your body feeling” which I really appreciate! Her workouts are interesting and challenging and all work on my goals of overall strength, cardio fitness/endurance, and of staying active and fit as I get older. She is very good at correcting incorrect form, even during our remote sessions. The transition from in-person to remote sessions was very smooth and she has kept me motivated and working hard at home!”

“Emma is creative, right on it, and comes up with a useful suggestions when I need to modify. Bravo. She is good and I’m grateful to have her as my trainer. Plus I’m getting stronger. Sending hellos and good wishes for the reopen.”

“Emma’s been my trainer for about 9 months, first in the gym, and then virtually.  My core is stronger, my back feels better, my knees don’t hurt anymore, my legs are much stronger, I can do a deeper squat, my posture is better, and I’ve lost a bit of weight despite not really trying to.  She’s devised routines that address the areas I need to work on most and that avoid creating injuries.  She observes what works and what doesn’t, and she makes appropriate changes.  On top of that, she’s one of the nicest human beings I’ve met in a long time, and I greatly enjoy the conversations we have during the workouts.  I give her the very highest recommendation!”
