Kelly Richards

I’ve been a part of the TP family since 2009. Movement and exercise have enhanced my life and I’m lucky to be able to share that with others on a daily basis. I believe that exercise and nutrition should be used in order to empower and enhance our lives and never as punishment. I love seeing people achieve great things and accomplish goals they never thought they could. I believe no goal is too big or too small, as long as it has meaning to you.  After having my first child, I am passionate about helping women safely train for birth and stay active during and after pregnancy.

I LOVE HELPING PEOPLE FIND JOY IN MOVEMENT, FEEL STRONG & EMPOWERED, LIVE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE & MOST IMPORTANTLY HAVE FUN DOING SO.”

I’ve worked with clients of all ages, shapes, sizes, conditions and abilities.  I love helping people feel good, live a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly have fun doing so. Whether you are recovering from an injury, just getting started, pregnant, postpartum, or looking to add variety to your current fitness regiment, I’m happy to help you achieve your fitness goals.

MY “WHY”

To empower my clients to feel strong and capable in their bodies at all stages of life, and to help them foster a positive relationship with movement and exercise.

things i like to do

Growing up in the mountains I developed a deep love of the outdoors. I enjoy running, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and just being out in nature. In my mind, winter isn’t complete without a big snowboarding trip. The more snow the merrier! I keep my own training on track by participating in functional fitness competitions every few months. Outside of the gym I enjoy travel, music and introducing our baby girl to all the wonders of the world.

EXPERIENCE

I grew up exploring the mountains around me. While in college, I found their Pilates program and completed a 600+ hr Comprehensive Classical Pilates instructor Certification and began teaching in Asheville in 2007.  In 2008 I completed the Fusion Pilates Pre/Post Natal Pilates training.

In 2011, I completed my Personal Trainer thru the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and in 2012 became a certified TRX Group Training Instructor. Always looking to expand my knowledge I completed the Precision Nutrition L1 certification for Sports & Exercise Nutrition in 2014.  While on maternity leave in 2017, I became a certified Pre/Postnatal Coach thru Girls Gone Strong.

“Working out with Kelly is lots of fun and just the right kind of challenge. Kelly has a wonderful ability to figure out your source of motivation and help you push yourself to achieve your goals. She is thoughtful, creative, and energetic. It never occurred to me that I would be a person who would incorporate things like the rower and weight training into my fitness routine, but with Kelly’s help and encouragement I have – and even enjoy them (mostly)! I am so grateful to have a gym like Training Partners which has many wonderful trainers, including Kelly.”

“Kelly is an excellent trainer and a natural teacher. She’s the perfect combination of tough (“Come on, only 4 more”) and caring (“That looks perfect Robin, you’re doing great”). Because of her efforts, I am stronger and more flexible, I have better balance and working out with her is fun. I recommend her without reservation. Thank you Kelly, for all you do!”

- Robin Schuh

“Learning about Pilates with Kelly has been a real pleasure. Her knowledge, positive attitude and, most of all, patience, make every session enjoyable and an ideal complement to my strength training.”
