Michael Scholtz

When it comes to fitness, I always think in terms of what I can DO with it. I love the outdoors and want to be able to go out and run, ride, hike and explore. With that in mind, I like to ask my clients what they want to do and then help them be able to enjoy whatever it is they’re passionate about. As Henry David Thoreau said, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”  What can you imagine?

I HAVE SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO WORK WITH THREE DISTINCT POPULATIONS: BEGINNERS, ATHLETES, AND CLIENTS SEEKING TO LOSE WEIGHT.

For beginners, especially those with fear or misconceptions regarding exercise, I have experience with goal setting and behavioral change strategies to increase adherence. For athletes, I have 26 years of competition and 22 years coaching experience in running and cycling and am able to utilize the concepts of periodization and sports preparation in my training. For overweight clients, I can help set realistic expectations, explain the science behind weight loss, and provide effective coaching strategies to not only lose weight but keep it off for the long term.

MY “WHY”

I utilize authenticity, knowledge and curiosity to foster collaboration and create results.

“We are pleased to recount our experiences with Michael Scholtz as our personal trainer. This has been a very positive experience. Michael has been pleasant, efficient, professional, and, above all, effective. We both believe we have gained demonstrably in strength, balance, flexibility, and stamina. We have an improved sense of well-being.

He has helped us do things in a way that – while challenging us to progress – has been safe and protective and enjoyable.”

“Michael works me hard and works with me to figure out my goals and stick to them. I’ve got more stamina, am stronger and I just feel better than I did before I started working with him.  He makes you feel good about your progress yet challenges you to do more.”

– Charlie Flynn-McIver

“My core strength and balance has increased and I have kept my weight steady.  I not only “feel” the benefits now, but realize I’m looking out for my future well-being. Training Partners provides an encouraging & safe environment in which to accomplish my fitness goals. Thanks TP!”
